What Motivates Change? Translating Theory Into Practice
Friday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. &
Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a state-of-the-art, evidence based clinical counseling method designed for evoking intrinsic motivation for positive health behavior change. Originally developed in the drug and alcohol field, MI is now being widely applied in a variety of settings including health care and criminal justice. This training is for helping professionals who are in the role of counseling clients/patients to make and sustain healthy behavior changes: nurses, physicians, life coaches, personal trainers, dietitians, care managers, social workers, health educators, etc. To read more about the objectives of this training, click here<http://www.motivatingchange.org/upcoming-trainings>.
*Approved for 9 CEU hours by NASW - Oregon Chapter and The Commission on Dietetic Registration and The Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine. An additional $10 fee is required.

Health at Every Size(r) in Clinical Practice
Saturday, May 18 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. &
Sunday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The five basic tenets of Health at Every Size<http://www.benourished.org/what-is-health-at-every-size> (HAES(r)) are health enhancement, size and self-acceptance, the pleasure of eating well, the joy of movement and an end to weight bias. Using a combination of therapeutic approaches, including mindfulness and intuitive eating, HAES can strengthen an individual's commitment to their health and wellness through focusing on quality of life and self-care instead of dieting for cosmetic reasons. To read more about the objectives of this training, click here<http://www.benourished.org/haes-in-clinical-practice/>.
