The Polarized Mind
Join leading spokesperson for Existential-Humanistic psychology, Kirk J. Schneider, Ph.D<http://ehnorthwest.us7.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=3b46241bbb7e390392e041d37&id=9df25d4b96&e=c57771bc50>. for a day of lecture, discussion and experiential exercises in existential-integrative therapy. Drawing from his new book as well as past work, Dr. Schneider will lead us in examining what he identifies as “The Polarized Mind”  – its causes and development, existential issues and qualities, and its treatment via existential-integrative therapy. Dr. Schneider defines the Polarized Mind as the product not of sickness but of unaddressed and unacknowledged fear - which leads individuals and societies to become rigid, narrow, and destructive.

Participants in the workshop will have the opportunity to learn:

  *   An understanding of the Polarized Mind including how it differs from extremism
  *   Existential issues relevant to developing Polarization - terror of death, groundlessness, insignificance, cosmic helplessness
  *   The essential principles of Existential-Integrative therapy
  *   Application of the great wisdom traditions in addressing the Polarized Mind
  *   Application of awe-based depth therapy in treatment

6 CEU's approved by Oregon Counseling Association/NBCC
This training is co-sponsored by the Oregon Counseling Association (ORCA) to provide NBCC continuing education contact hours. ORCA is recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors (NBCC provider #2038). ORCA adheres to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines.
