Certified Evaluators, Interested Parties, and Rule Advisory Committee
Members:

While staff at AMH have been reviewing the comments and concerns
expressed in email format over the last week, it is clear that there are
issues needing to be reviewed prior to the rule becoming permanent.
Therefore, I would ask that you formally submit comments to
OAR.AMH at dhs.state.or.us or plan to provide verbal testimony at the
public hearing to assure the issues you are most concerned about are
addressed.

To: Interested Parties

From: Nola J. Russell, Administrative Rule Coordinator

Oregon Health Authority, Addictions and Mental
Health Division

Subject: Notice of Proposed Rulemaking Hearings

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Addictions and Mental Health (AMH)
Division has scheduled public hearings for the following Oregon

OAR 309-090-0000 through 309-090-0040:

Forensic Mental Health Evaluators & Evaluations

These rules implement HB 3100 of the 2011 Oregon Laws, which
relates to court-

ordered evaluations of individuals' competency to aid in
their defense or their

capacity to be have been criminally responsible.

These rules establish minimum standards for the
certification of evaluators and will

ensure forensic evaluations meet consistent quality
standards.

The current temporary rules became effective on 01/01/2012 and may be
found at this link:
http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/pages/rules/oars_300/oar_309/309_090.html
