[ODE-IT] Fall Special Education Administrator Conference

Here is a little more information about the Fall Conference. We hope
this clarification will help. 
The Fall Administrator's Conference will be held Monday, September 13
through Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at the Valley River Inn, in
Eugene, Oregon. One half-day Business Manager's session and one half-day
IT Manager's session will be held as part of the conference.
Over the course of the next few weeks and months the content,
scheduling, and details of this conference will be determined. Special
Education staff will be contacting a few IT Managers and Business
Managers to assist in planning the content. At this early date we
broadly expect the content to include:
Business Managers: 11% Cap Waivers, High Cost Students (aka SB 550),
Maintenance of Effort, Federal IDEA funding, optional uses of federal
funds, recovery of special education funds (monitoring exceptions),
Fiscal Reporting to ODE
IT Managers: Consolidated student data collection-inclusive of special
education child count data, possible consolidation of special education
discipline collection into Safe and Drug Free Schools collection and
other possible cooperative data ventures.
More information will be shared as it becomes finalized. 
Doug and Bill may be sending this out to you, as well, but I wanted to
reply to you as soon as possible, since you contacted me (or Peggy) for
more information.
