Student Level Collection Changes for School Year 2004-2005 

There are significant changes in student level collections for the
upcoming school year.  ODE is combining existing student level, existing
aggregate level and new data collections into a single student level
file format.  The changes are driven by a state statute requirement for
high cost disability data (SB 550), NCLB disaggregated data reporting
requirements, the opportunity to consolidate collections and standardize
data element definitions.  Moreover, ODE believes that consolidating
collections will reduce the reporting burden to districts in the long
run.  There will be a meeting on Thursday, May 27th, at the Public
Services Building (ODE Offices, on the Mall across from the State
Capital building in Salem,  Oregon) Room 251B from 9 AM until 4 PM for
any district and or vendor development/programming staff to meet with
ODE and review the requirements and ask questions about the upcoming

Note that some collections will adopt this format in 2005-06.  However,
the Offices of the ODE are working together and will be working
throughout the year to expedite this goal.
