[ODE-IT] FW: I need your assistance on the attached grant proposal

Friends: 
 
ODE is currently writing a proposal to the Institute of Education
Sciences (IES), the research arm of the federal Department of Education,
to support development and implementation of a longitudinal educational
data warehouse, and we need your input. Many aspects of this grant
coincide with the KIDS project which is already moving forward with your
support.

 

We are writing this grant in conjunction with the state of Washington in
hopes that collaboration between the two states will allow easier record
transition for students moving across the border, and will strengthen
our proposal among 50 national applicants. Washington and Oregon will be
exchanging proposal drafts on Friday June 24 to make revisions, and the
final application is due Friday July 1.

 

Attached you will find a preliminary draft of our work which we would
appreciate feedback on before Tuesday June 28. We also need your help in
developing a stakeholder group to advise us on this project, and letters
of support from your organizations. We are already collecting letters of
support from districts and ESDs, but we want to showcase the vested
interest of as many stakeholder groups as possible. Support letters can
be as simple as a brief statement of support for a longitudinal data
warehouse and how it would benefit your organization.

 

We appreciate any time you are able to give to this grant process, and
we appreciate your support as we build Oregon's capacity for an
accurate, timely, student-level data warehouse.

recommendations.

followup with specific staff for targeted input beyond what is here.
