District/ESD IT Managers:

    ODE is seeking nominations to represent Oregon School Districts on the National Center for Education Statistic's Forum.  The Forum is sponsored by the National Center for Education Statistics of the U.S. Department of Education and is committed to improving the quality, comparability, and usefulness of elementary and secondary education data, while remaining sensitive to data burden concerns. Forum members include representatives from state education agencies, local education agencies, the federal government, and other organizations with an interest in education data. The Forum's purpose is to plan, recommend, and implement strategies for building an education data system that will support local, state, and national efforts to improve public and private education throughout the United States.    The requirements of the LEA Forum nominees are:

 *   Attend two Forum meetings per year (all travel expenses reimbursed by CCSSO)
 *   Be collectively representative of all districts in Oregon when providing input to the Forum
 *   Provide twice yearly report outs to ODE, Data Collection Committee, and IT Manager's groups on the Forum news, task forces, and findings.
 *   District/ESD Superintendent support will be required
 *   Final appointment will be made by State Superintendent of Public Instruction and USED

Currently, this position is filled by Blair Loudat of North Clackamas School District.  We thank Blair for her dedication in representing Oregon schools around data collection, policies, and district burden around the collection of educational data.
