[ODE-IT] FW: Server-side fix for Mac OS X browsers

Earlier this week, ODE sent you information regarding a conflict that some districts using Mac 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6 were experiencing between the sound card and the secure browser for students taking the ELPA Practice Test. This resulted in students hearing a "scratching sound" from their headsets. AIR has now implemented a server-side fix which has been successfully tested by several districts.   The vast majority of districts should now be able to successfully access the ELPA practice test with no further action required.

However, some districts using Mac 10.5 and 10.6 may still experience issues with some USB headsets if their machine's sampling rates are not set properly. AIR has prepared a step-by-step guide to help users adjust their sampling rate settings if they have this issue. This step-by-step guide is now available on the OAKS Portal at: http://www.oaks.k12.or.us/resourcesGeneral.html.

Prior to the ELPA testing window opening on January 21, ODE recommends that districts log into the ELPA practice test to confirm successful log-in and sound quality.  If you experience any issues, please contact your Regional ESD Partner.
