Comments sought on Cedar Creek Hatchery summer steelhead program
TILLAMOOK - The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking
written public comment on a draft Hatchery Genetic Management Plan
(HGMP) for the Cedar Creek Hatchery summer steelhead program (Stock 47)
in the Nestucca River and Wilson River basins. The comment period is
open February 15 - March 8, 2006.
NOAA Fisheries requires HGMPs to provide a review of each hatchery's
current operational components for each fish species reared at a
facility. Following public and ODFW review, the HGMP will be submitted
to NOAA Fisheries for final review. A copy of the draft summer steelhead
HGMP can be requested from the North Coast Watershed District office in
Tillamook at 503-842-2741. The draft also is posted on the ODFW Web site
at www.dfw.state.or.us on the Fish Division Page.
All written comments should be sent to Robert Bradley, ODFW, North Coast
Watershed District, 4907 Third Street, Tillamook, OR 97141, or emailed
to Robert.Bradley at state.or.us. Comments must be received or postmarked
by 5 p.m. March 8, 2006.
