Workshop Date and Time

ODFW marine reserves staff, in coordination with COMPASS, are conducting
an ecological monitoring workshop on Friday, February 3 at the Oregon
State University Alumni Center in Corvallis from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Marine science experts from Oregon, California, and Washington have been
invited to participate in the workshop. The public is welcomed to attend
this workshop in observation.

Workshop Purpose

ODFW has concluded two years of baseline data collection at two marine
reserve sites, Redfish Rocks and Otter Rock. The agency is starting to
plan sampling for three potential new marine reserve sites at: Cape
Perpetua, Cascade Head, and Cape Falcon. ODFW will be seeking advice on
current monitoring activities, including adjustments that may be needed
for monitoring at the new sites and the frequency of specific monitoring
activities as part of the state's long-term monitoring strategy.
