EIP Conservation Advisory Committee to meet March 19

SALEM - The first meeting of the Energy Incentives Program Conservation Advisory Committee will take place March 19 in Salem. The public meeting will be held from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Office of the Oregon State Fire Marshall (4760 Portland Road NE).
The committee was set up to assist the Oregon Department of Energy in the permanent rulemaking process for the conservation tax credits that are part of the new Energy Incentives Program, which replaced the Business Energy Tax Credit program. The committee consists of business and industry representatives, community leaders and interest groups.

A public hearing on draft permanent rules is scheduled for May 24, 2012.

The legislation that created the EIP was House Bill 3672 (2011). ODOE implemented temporary rules for the program on December 23, 2011. The temporary rules will expire on June 19, 2012.
