TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: Storm Water Management Plan Development and Review

training opportunity:

As part of ODOT's storm water management plan approval streamlining
agreement, ODOT staff is to receive training on how to put together a
storm water management plan and to review a SWMP using DEQ criteria and
expectations for evaluation. Once Region staff have this training, the
streamlining can be implemented, which will allow for most future
projects to receive the detailed review by ODOT staff, not DEQ staff.
This will not only greatly reduce the regulatory review period, but will
help make sure that our projects do not get caught in the loop of
comment and response. This training does not cover how to design water
quality treatment facilities.

Staff who should attend this training are:
RECs
Biologists
Permit/Water Quality specialist
Storm water Engineers
All of these may become involved in either the development or the review
of SWMPs

Classes are currently scheduled for:
- Nov. 13, 2008 in La Grande
- Nov. 24, 2008 in White City
- TBA in the Bend area
