On behalf of the Region 1 ACEC/ODOT training committee, we welcome your attendance to the Roadway topic "Designing Roads (Cost Effectively) with 3-D Modeling".
The presentation will come from Tom Metcalf, PE for OBEC Consulting Engineers.
Tom’s presentation will provide general insight on how machine control grading has changed the way in which projects need to be designed and delivered. His presentation will also include recent “real world” lessons learned from ODOT’s $154 million I-5: Willamette River Bridge project in Eugene, Ore., in which he served as the Roadway Lead and was directly responsible for providing the electronic design data needed for the project’s machine control grading.
Tom Metcalf has 14 years of roadway design experience as a consultant in the states of Oregon, California, Nevada and Iowa. Much of this experience has involved intensive, hands‐on use of roadway design software in the creation of proposed 3D roadway/earthwork terrain models.
For more information, contact Tom at tmetcalf at obec.com.
