training opportunity:

ODOT has scheduled Consultant Qualification For Providing ESA Documents
for September 13th. Biological assessments address specific impacts of
transportation projects on listed endangered species and describe
actions to avoid, minimize and mitigate those impacts. As a non-Federal
representative, ODOT has been given responsibility by Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA) to work with National Marine Fisheries Service
(NMFS) and US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to conduct Endangered
Species Act (ESA) Section 7 consultation. This certification class will
ensure that people producing a Biological Assessment (BA) have the
knowledge and tools to provide the correct amount of information as it
relates to transportation projects.
