[OGWG] August GRC Section event

[Oregon Geothermal Working Group]

Greetings,

Much geological and geophysical data has been generated on Newberry Volcano in the last few years, much of it related to geothermal exploration.  This spurred discussions of how to provide and share data with scientists working on or having a strong interest in the volcano.  As a result, the USDA Forest Service and the Northwest Section of the Geothermal Resources Council<http://www.geothermal.org> are jointly hosting an open forum for those with data and interpretations to share with other scientists.

The main purpose of this meeting is to share information - rather than present ready-for-publication material. It is hoped that the meeting will be one of  interaction rather than one of lectures.  The Forest Service is hosting this event at its new Bend office<http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/centraloregon/home/?cid=fsbdev3_036040> on August 22nd and 23rd 2013.

Persons wishing to present information should contact either Bob Fujimoto - rfujimoto at fs.fed.us<mailto:rfujimoto at fs.fed.us> - or Al Waibel - awaibel at hevanet.com<mailto:awaibel at hevanet.com> - with a topic and time estimate.

There is no charge to attend and the event is open to all interested parties. Please forward this announcement.  We encourage folks to get the word out.
