The ALA Intellectual Freedom Manual is one of my go-to professional
reference books. And - good news! - there will be a new edition coming out
in 2020.

In preparation for that, the ALA Intellectual Freedom Committee is asking
for feedback on the interpretations of the Library Bill of Rights. Here are
some interpretations currently accepting feedback:

*Meeting Rooms: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights *(feedback
due by June 4, 2018)

The IFC would appreciate comments on "Meeting Rooms: An Interpretation of
the Library Bill of Rights." It was approved by Council in July 1991 (view
the current interpretation here<
http://www.ala.org/advocacy/intfreedom/librarybill/interpretations/meetingrooms
>).

*Services to People with Disabilities: An Interpretation of the Library
Bill of Rights *(feedback due by June 7, 2018)

The committee would appreciate any feedback on "Services to People with
Disabilities: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights" by June 7.
The interpretation was approved by Council in January 2009 with the name
"Services to Persons with Disabilities." (View the current interpretation

For both of these ,the ALA Intellectual Freedom Committee will make
revisions to the interpretation in light of your suggestions and will bring
the document to Council forum at the upcoming Annual Conference in New
Orleans for further feedback.
