Early Assessment and Support Team (EAST)
This is the website for one of the best early intervention projects in
the United States for young people and their families who are going
through a first episode of major mental illness
The Early Assessment and Support Team (EAST) was created in 2001 by
Mid-Valley Behavioral Care Network with the goal of reducing long-term
disability associated with psychosis. EAST has two components: a
clinical team, and a community network.

Distance Learning Broadcast Series focusing on The Change Journey
Prevention is about change -- changing community norms, changing
systems, changing ourselves. Change is about learning - learning how
change happens and to develop processes that support positive change
and healthy change agents.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA),
Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP)
offers this three-part Distance Learning Broadcast Series focusing on
The Change Journey.
Not an ordinary satellite broadcast, this series of multimedia
distance
learning broadcasts features a combination of information,
interaction,
feedback, activities and bulletin board discussion that provides a
unique capacity building experience for understanding and achieving
positive change. Guest presenter and lead learning facilitator Judi
Kosterman from The Change Companies, will engage participants in a
change journey like no other. As is often expressed, prevention is
prevention is prevention and this series is designed for people
involved
in all kinds of prevention change initiatives - regardless of
discipline, agency affiliation or organization.
The series will be broadcast from 1:00 to 3:00 Eastern Time on the
following days:
* March 8, 2005 - Part I: Establishing Your Base
* April 12, 2005 - Part II: Venturing Out & Back
* May 10, 2005 - Part III: Reaching the Summit
As a participant you will learn:
*Why achieving real and lasting change seems so difficult
*What it takes to move coalitions, organizations, prevention
systems and ourselves to action
*The processes of change and how they really work
*The critical path from raising awareness to initiating change to
maintaining change
*How to create lasting change experiences for our coalitions,
organizations, systems and ourselves
