Greetings!

 

As Sheri mentioned, I have been retained to compile a list of both funding
and technical resources that could be useful to Oregon's Main Street
Programs.  Examples of what I am looking for include:

 

-    Arts Services Grants from the Oregon Arts Commission

-    Portland Community College's Visual Merchandising courses that could
include designing your storefront windows as a class project

-    Resources available to rural communities 

-    Resources available only to your geographic region.

 

I am looking for resources that can help further any of the four points.  My
top sources for additions to the list is you, the practitioners who have
utilized resources for your own downtown.  

 

Therefore, using the email address listed below, please send me:

 

-    Any resources your community has used to better your downtown.  The
resource could have been used by your downtown program, your city or any
other community group.  

-    Any lists of resources you have created or picked up along the way.
This can include lists you have picked up at past trainings, such as grant
classes or even main street trainings.

-    Any listserv's, blogs, e-newsletters, websites or other resources that
may either have lists I could use or should be a on the list itself as
something OR Main Streets would be interested in exploring.

 

Just in case you have something that is easier to mail, I have included my
mailing address below.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any
questions.

 

Thank you for your help!  My hope is for a fairly comprehensive product that
you will all find useful and that can be easily added to over time.

It's been on my "wish list" for a while to compile a list of federal and
state grant and technical assistance resources available to assist with
downtown revitalization efforts. We have several pieces, but not one
comprehensive listing. To help pull this information together, Megan
Braunsten, formerly with the Gresham Downtown Development Association, has
been hired. She'll take the information we currently have as well as
research additional sources and put it together in one simple document.
She'll be posting a listing requesting your support in helping identify
resources and programs you know of or have used.
