1. New Location: Oregon Main Street Branding & Tourism Workshop, Friday, February 4, 8 am to noon

2. The APA has recently relaunched the Community Planning Assistance Team program - it pairs national experts with local community members to work pro bono on highly specific planning projects that can include economic development strategies, transit-oriented developments, parks/waterfronts, and urban design guidelines to affordable housing, sustainability plans, and water management issues.

If any of your local communities have a project in mind that could benefit from free technical assistance (I am sure this doesn't apply to anyone in the MS world :) ), you could encourage them to apply. Applications are being accepted now through Feb. 22. Also if anyone on your staff is interested in doing work like this and spreading MS expertise to new markets, APA is accepting applications for team members. Jeff Siegler worked on one of their projects in Aruba, so you can ask him about how awesome it was to work for free.
