Ours are 24x50” with a 2” diameter loop top and bottom for the poles. I think they fit well on our historic-style streetlights, but they may be a bit small if they were going on cobra-style lights. For what it’s worth, we get canvas from our local awning company with the pole pockets sewn, and then give them to local artists to paint unique pictures on them. It costs a bit more – around $50-60 per banner including paint, but we have the coolest and most unique banners in the state (in my opinion). If you do this, make sure to put a clear coat of UV resistant paint on them. Otherwise they’ll fade in a couple years. As it is, we’ve had to touch them up twice in the last 16 years, but it’s worth it.
We’ve been able to get local volunteers or the local telecom company to put the banners up.

In my experience, you typically need a larger banner than you think. The best thing is to do a mock-up and place it where it will go on the pole. Then do a drive/walk to see if it is visible/readable. When you look at banners in a room, they look really big, but when placed outside, they are often too small. Not sure on the city charge – a few towns do charge, some don’t, and some contract w/the main street program to coordinate for a fee.

What size are your pole banners? We just got the city to approve them but they want us to get 30x60 which seems very large. We originally researched 24x48. I would be interested to know what size other cities have. Also, what does the city charge you to put them up? They want to charge us $100/pole.

Hello All,
The Bonanza Revitalization Team is a new member of the Oregon Main Street Program. We have just started a new Flag Program. We have placed our first order through Evergreen Enterprises and have had a very bad experience so far. I was hoping you all could share what companies you order your flags from.
Thanks for your help.
