FYI - there will be two workshops in June that might be of interest to our Oregon Main Street Network Communities.
1. On June 15th, 1-5 p.m., the Klamath Falls Downtown Association will be hosting an Upstairs Downtown workshop featuring Mike Jackson and Dan Carmody. Mike Jackson and Dan Carmody developed the content for the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency's UpstairsDowntown(tm) upper story redevelopment program for the Illinois Main Street program in 2005. Over the past 10 years, many communities across the nation have been inspired to redevelop the upper stories of their historic buildings under Dan and Mike's tutelage. They continue to provide their expertise to communities across the U.S. today. This very relevant program focuses on building community capacity to revitalize its underutilized assets and helps stakeholders work together to create a greater downtown by putting the market forces to work for a more resilient and compelling place. The UpstairsDowntown program is designed for building owners, contractors, architects, city officials, preservationists, and downtown professionals. Additional info about the workshop will be available soon.
