[OMS_MANAGERS] Confusing name

Hello to all,

I have received several calls recently regarding political activities by the Main Street Alliance of Oregon. Business owners that have contacted me have been upset because they believed that the calls, ads, etc. are coming from Oregon Main Street and by extension from our local programs. Oregon Main Street is part of a state agency and can't and doesn't engage in political activities.

The Main Street Alliance of Oregon is a totally separate entity and not related to our program at all.

I did check in with the National Main Street Center to see if there is an infringement on the National trademark brand at the request of some of the folks who contacted me.  The National Main Street Center checked with their attorney. The National Main Street Center brand only relates to the use of "main street" as it applies to downtown revitalization and not to political advocacy.
