Since it would appear that he served in the armed forces of this
country, there would perhaps be enlistment records, service records, and
possibly pension records. You might try the Cyndi's List website for
information pertaining to obtaining this type of information.

Also, if you wrote to the cemetery, they might be able to provide
whatever records they may have -- some cemeteries have extensive records
and some provide them willingly -- once in a while the two items
coincide. Perhaps the cemetery has a website you could check.

Maybe the VFW could help ...

You have a death date and location -- perhaps he is an early entry in
the SSDI.
