Unfortunately, all counties, though required by law
to do so, did NOT in fact report many adult deaths
1903-1931.

If the death occurred in Oregon 1903-1953, and you find it on the Oregon Death Index, you can obtain copies from:
http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/reference.html
Deaths which occurred in the last 50 years are obtained through a different source.

Thanks for posting the link to the Oregon Death Index.
So, if we find someone of interest on this list with a certificate number, does anyone know how to get a copy of the certificate? Will the certificate have any information beyond name and death date? In particular, I'm looking for parent names of my GG-grandmother. Might her death certificate have such information?
