Hello Barbara,

May I inquire about the MAUPIN connection in your message?

My grandmother's sister, Ella BROOKS m. George MAUPIN probably in
Modoc Co. CA (she was b. 1864 at Likely, Modoc, CA). I am trying to
ascertain what connection there was, if any, between George MAUPIN and
Elizabeth MAUPIN who m. Sanford POWER(S) 30 Dec 1857 in Bath Co. KY.
Their son, William POWERS was my paternal grandfather who m. Maud
BROOKS 20 Oct 1894 in Alturas, Modoc, CA, sister of Ella BROOKS above.
The BROOKS family migrated OH>MO>CA a good 20 yrs earlier than two of
the POWERS brothers from KY so it wasn't a case of all of them
traveling together.

There is a lady in Arkansas who is related to George MAUPIN and Ella
BROOKS, and she also has a Levingston SUMPTER who died in Polk Co. OR
in 1926. This info has come to me in the past 3 weeks, so I would be
most grateful if you (or anyone else on the list) could add anything
more.
