JIM: thanks to a couple three nice ladies on the hutchinson board i have the hutchinson family back to "ralph", the immigrant. they sent me quite a lot of data on roxy and rhoda hutchinson also. my elijah dow hutchinson was the executor of his father's will in missouri, mostly i thing because he was the only male child there when his dad died. i have a great pic of elijah dow and another of his wife. i also have bowen's from wales but they are way back in the late 1600s and i have not been able to tie them to john bowen. haven't really tried too hard as this is not a direct line for me. i am copying anything and everything you post, since as i said before, you never know when something might be of help to you. if i can help in any way, just let me know. ralph seems like such a strange name for the 1600s but sure enough that is it. many years ago i had an aunt who told me that one of our lines came thru canada and it was the hutchinson's. ralph, of course, lived in i believe mass. they then migrated to canada and came thru ohio where my elijah was born and then south west to mo. and then west to oregon. until those wonderful ladies sent me all that data on the hutchinson's all i had for 25 years was the fact that elijah was born in ohio. talk about a brick wall. there was a man in seattle or somewhere nearby that had all this data but for some unknown reason he would not share it. very frustrating at the time. don't even remember his name. i moved to sun city, az. about 2 years ago and it is very hard to do oregon genealogy from here. i did join "sons and daughters of oregon pioneers" some years back and elijah was one of the ones that i joined on. the others were bonney, powers, loudon and shaw. the shaws lived in freewater, oregon and their desc. live in walla walla also. sorry to ramble but i rarely get the chance to talk with anyone on the hutchinson side.

JIM: thanks so much for the data that you posted. this family was a mystery to me for many, many years. roxy hutchinson was the sister to elijah dow hutchinson who was my gr. gr. grandfather. every little bit helps. thanks again.

May we exchange info on the Bowen line. I imagine that the east coast is full of people that are researching that line. They had large families a few generations back and came from The chesapeake Bay area so they migrated up and down the eastern seaboard quite a bit.
