"Nice (Lincoln County) post office, formerly Lutgens, was established
April 24, 1917. The office was discontinued November 15, 1919. It was
named for Captain  Henry ìHarryî Nice (1837-1921), a prominent Alsea Bay
resident during the last half of the 19th Century. Nora L. Strake was
the first postmaster."
