Cecil,

My mother and I did go through many of her pictures and we either wrote the
names on the back of the picture, or put a page in with the picture with
people identified.

BUT..... when my m-i-l passed there were tons of pictures that we thought
were friends, school chums, etc. And we spent quite some time identifying
some of them .... And it is driving me crazy .... is this family to save
and attempt to identify ... are these school chums that should either go in
the trash or to that county historical society and see if they can identify
.....

When Mom and I did her pictures, there are lots of pictures where there is
an index card in the front, something along the lines of "Trip to Alaska
..... My memories only, Mom" and then other folders that say things like
"Girls from the Dorm"

Just a thought ....

May work for other people, may not.

Mom has more surgery this year, and this time I get the second two weeks,
not the immediate first two weeks, and I'm thinking that I'd love to see
her high school, college scrap books. Gives her something to talk to me
about, keeps her set while the knee is healing, and it is something we
haven't done before, and if there is a wonderful family story, perhaps we
can write it down before I mess up all her family stories.

Chris

If you have photos in your possession that are not annotated, and you know
who they are, write the names on the backs of the photos BEFORE you delete
this message. "Mother" and "me" don't get it (I have one of those from
1935; but I know who "me" is because I knew "me" (Fern Anderson nee
unknown) 1949 untill her death.
