[or-roots] Powell's in Gresham

Visited a bookstore in North Bend the other day and ran across a copy of

"Gresham; Stories of the Past"		by the Gresham Historical Society

I didn't see any other names I recognized, but there was a nice section on
the Powell family, I forgot to write down how many pages, I think about ten.
Quite a few pictures, a reproduction of a letter from Jackson Powell and I
believe a bio on John Parker Powell.

I think you can get it from him cheaper by calling him, his markup for
shipping and handling over the internet includes the cost that whatever site
you link to him by charges for their cut.

He also had a real interesting book on the civil war, it contains about
20-30 (or more, old timer's ya know) bios of people from the Civil War era
and each bio includes a reproduction of a letter they wrote during the war.
This isn't just soldiers, it included housewives and probably Parents,
sweethearts and children. I got sidetracked and didn't make a note of what
it is called, but if somebody was real interested in it, Steve could
probably pick it out.

He does have a policy of not shipping anything he wants less then $12 for
but I doubt if that applies to the latter book and I KNOW not the Gresham
one.
