Yes Sue, all of these Clearkins were related. Martha (Cahoon/Calhoun) 
Clearkin was the mother.  Matthew, William and Andrew were her sons. My gr 
grandmother, Ellen Clearkin Jessup was her oldest daughter. 

I can remember Matthew from the 1930's when he came to Portland to visit with 
gr grandmother. She died in 1944. 

They were all b in VA, Roanoke Co. except Martha who was born just across the 
border in Botetort Co., VA. Their father, Patrick was from Ireland. I have 
most of the genealogy on them except a few little pieces of info on William and 
Andrew. I like to check out the siblings of my direct line ancestors in case I 
can learn where in Ireland Patrick came from. There were two daughters 
besides Ellen. Ann married in MO where the family migrated to in 1870/71. Margaret 
(Aunt Mag) married a Leeper in MO and lived in TX. She came to visit a few 
times but I don't remember her. A son, Patrick, died between 1860 and 1870 in VA.

Andrew was a bartender in the Grand Geiser Hotel in Baker Ciity. It is a 
beautiful hotel now that it has been restored. My sis and I were back there for 
research and had lunch at the hotel just to see what it was like.

The Clearkin men and their mother came to Baker from MO around 1897/8. 
Apparently Patrick died in MO about that time - can't find his death.
