I have some Shields in the Cottage Grove area that have married into two branches of my family.  Nancy Jane Shields, daughter of James P. and Parthenia (Small) Shields,  married James B. Linebaugh.  Nancy's sister, Mary Jemima Shields married Hiram Douglas Linebaugh, brother of James B. Linebaugh.  George William Shields, brother of Nancy and Mary, married Lucy Belle Veatch.  Lucy is a a descendant of my Richardson-Brown line.  Any connection?
