[or-roots] Looking for a book

 A friend of mine is looking for a book, "Desperate Heart".  It is about the settling of the Oregon pioneers in the northern part.  She isn't exactly sure of the title but at 83 she has lots of information to sort through.  I thought that if anyone would know our wonderful genealogists will have the answer!  Can any of you help me with the title and or a source for the book.  She is an avid reader and a wonderful friend.  I'd really like to surprise her with it for a gift!
