Don't feel too bad, I don't think that is a universal rule, as someone else
mentioned, a while back there was a real blitz of those, but only to certain
folks, like me. I never got to the bottom of the problem, but it is some
kind of eccentricity of either the email client of the sender, something to
do with how someone somewhere online processes the email vis-a-vis the
recipient or a conflict between sender and recipient software.
That is one of the reasons so many of the lists and other genealogy resource
sites prefer "plain text" submissions rather than fancy hypertext with
pretty backgrounds and emoticons etc. It is still a bandwidth issue to a
certain extent and storage also, but those are both receding as issues, but
software compatibility problems are here to stay unless Bill can capture
100% of the market, then the problems will be twice as bad.
