Bob; If L H didn't stand for John Henery, then I take it the siblings in
that 1880 Census I sent you weren't a match either. If I had a little more
info on John, etc I might be able to run them down in 1860, 70 , 80 or 1900,
10, or 20.
As to knowing when Alonzo got here, unless you want to do an exhaustive
search of newspapers and other available documents you may be out of luck.
Was the Alonzo family group in 1900 I sent you the right one??
It is possible that there would be some entry in the local paper about new
folks on the block or some such. It would depend on a lot of maybes. Other
than that, if they bought property, or happened to rent from someone whose
books were still around [as if!!]or in some other way made enough of a
splash to leave a paper trail that still exists you might be able to
determine when the came. Do you have a ball park figure? I had no luck
finding anyone in 1910 census to match up with your kin.
Like I said I can browse the papers, but it would help to be able to narrow
it down to a certain decade and community. There are about 3 to 5 newspapers
available for the Coos County area in the time frame you mention that I have
easy access to. Looking for your kin would be no big hardship as there are
things I need to search more thoroughly for in the same period.

Thanks for the guidance. My cousin told me Marshfield was Reedsport. I'll
have to speak with her. My mom did graduate from Marshfield Hi in 1915, so
I suppose Coos Bay is the place. I have Considerable info on him but my
information is that his father was John Henery Dye. I also have info on
Alonzo's siblings. I know when and where he was born and died. Ineed
information on when he moved to Oregon. Any Ideas?
Thanks
