Les, Have you checked out the possibility of a worm/ Seems my 'ex' ended
up with a "worm32" and now his machine is in getting TRULY cleaned. I'm
thinking I might have mine gone over just based on what is happening to
yours and what happened to his.

Hi Marsha;

Just call me clueless too, the attachments disappeared the next day on my
system the same as . . . jeez my memory is pad, whoever the lady was that
corroborated my report and the next day reported they had disappeared from
her system. I am not entirely convinced yet that it wasn't a virus attack.
There is some kind of activity going on periodically on my system that my
son and I have been unable to identify. So far other than makin my driving
game slow down and have lag problems and crash once in a while it has not
been a problem. I hope Norton does a thorough analysis of the file I sent
them to figure out just what it WAS doing. It may be some kind of Microsoft
thing that got a little perverted for some reason, I notice a lot of my spam
seem to pull information from my hard drive to create subject lines and
return addresses on my computer when the email comes in. These attachments
may be somehow related to that. My guess is those of us who saw the
attachments have some kind of spy ware or adwar on our machines and that is
somehow connected along with what was said about stripping this stuff.
Somedays I miss good old DOS and simple programs I could actually understand
and if I wanted to write better. Now in the time it would take me to change
a dialogue box in one of these programs I can add a hundred ancestors to my
family file. guess where my priorties would lie.

I think the reason you were the one who they were attached to was because
you sent most of the email that came from the list that day and odds were
therefore they would be attached to yours. I had one other list letter with
an attachment and a third of my spam.

I just hope if I turn out to be right it is an inocuous virus that one of
these days will pop up and go "Neener! Neeener! you didn't find me" rather
than frying my system.

Les C
