[or-roots] Thornberry Brothers

Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking for quite some time now, hoping I'd
just happen on some information regarding this family,
but haven't so far. So, I thought I'd give this a
try...I'm looking for more information on the
Thornberry brothers who moved from Oklahoma to Oregon
before 1920. I'm hoping that someone has more
information that they can provide. These brothers had
one other brother Wallace Thornton Thornberry who
lived in the Kansas City, MO area and eventually died
there. They also had two older sisters, Minnie and
Maude. Their parents were Wallace Ware Thornberry of
Kentucky and Sarah Ann Williams of Virginia. Wallace
was born March 9, 1849 and died November 29, 1909 in
Oklahoma. Sarah was born July 23, 1849 and died May
26, 1937 in Clackamas Co., OR.

1. Grider Thornberry (aka Buck Thornberry)
b. May 26, 1873 Greenville, Muhlenberg Co., KY
d. Unknown in Unknown (possibly Jackson, MS)
Spouse: Mary Hammett (aka Hattie)
Occupation: Traveling Salesman

According to a postcard (No date) their address was
224 14th St.
Astoria, OR
The postcard is a picture with Grider and Hattie on a
train. The train reads A&C Seaside 

Special R.R.

Found in the 1910 census in Kentucky

heard rumors that he died in 

Washington and buried in Oregon)

5. Don Golium Thornberry (aka Golden Thornberry)

appendicitis)

Occupation: Policeman
