[or-roots] Family tragedy

Karla,
It's too bad, you didn't think of this first to write to tell people about,
loving kindness, while Kevin was with us!
Now it's too late to be kind to him. {Only to Shirlee} Some of the or-roots
members really stressed him out. He was trying very hard to unsubscribe, but
some.. just made fun of him... some were cruel and rude. He told me that
himself. They just wouldn't back off and let him unsubscribe, he was
stressed out and Stress can kill..

Why didn't someone "pray to the Lord to help and guide him to unsubscribe".
? as he was trying desperately to do?
WHERE, was the loving kindness when he was alive? He was a fellow Oregonian
like us. It's too easy now, to say the things, you have wrote about, He is
gone! Some of the members, would like to ease there conscious, as they know
they really were way too hard on him. Like you wrote "Life is too short"
              Nancy

Hey, calm down everybody.

Listen, it is too bad about Kevin. But as far as putting his name and
address, and phone number on the Internet, it was
there to be had even before the brouhaha got started. All you have to do
is to go to infospace.com, and type in his
name, and then Bend Oregon and his address pops up. I did this, and
cross checked with Shirlee's name and the
address and phone number are the same. I was thinking about sending her
a condolence card.
Whomever was sending those emails to the list, was incredibly rude, no
matter who it was. If he/she could have made
a decent polite request, instead of all of the name bashing, we might
have been more tolerant. But, to be out and out
rude and make demands and call people names doesn't sound fair. And it
isn't to be tolerated.
Any list owner would have unsubbed one of the list members for that kind
of behavior and language. I am on a lot
of email lists/groups through Yahoogroups, and other entities, and
"flaming" as it is called, just isn't tolerated.
I am sorry that Kevin has passed on. And maybe it wasn't Kevin, maybe it
could have been one of his sibs, or his
kids (if they have any) or just and insensitive clod of a neighbor. It
could have been anybody.
I don't like rudeness on anybody's part. I am 57 years old, and come
from the old school, that if you want to be
treated with respect, then you treat others the same way. And no matter
what the age, there just isn't any excuse
for rudeness. None whatsoever. I put up with a lot of stuff from my 20
year old, that I shouldn't. Sometimes he
is just teasing and other times he is disrespectful. If I had my way, I
would kick his sorry behind out of here, and let
him fend for himself. But dad says no.
Someone said the list mom was on vacation. And this message was imparted
to Kevin. Kevin, himself said he had
blocked receiving messages from the list, and that should have been
sufficient until the list mom was available to take
care of unsubbing him. But, I don't understand why he couldn't have
unsubbed himself, but be that as it may.
Life is just too short to be carrying grudges. We have to let the thing
go and just remember the tragedy that happened
to Shirlee and the family. And we need to pray the Lord will give her
the strength to carry on. It is hard losing someone
you love.
Well, I have said my piece. So, please everyone, don't carry grudges.
You are a very sweet bunch of people, and seem
to be very caring of each other. Let's extend that caring to Shirlee and
her family. They have lost a husband, father, brother,
uncle and nephew. So, we need to remember he was a human being and that
someone, somewhere loved him. And that
my friends, will make us all feel better.
So, we are all adults here and we need to settle down and act like the
mature beings I know we are. So let's all just have a
good nights sleep and wake up tomorrow with a song on our lips and a
prayer in our hearts, and be thankful for what we have.

Sincerely,

Karla Williams

PS. Hope I didn't step on any toes here
