It is my husband's family that are Oregonians so I'll toss out some of their surnames to see if they fit in with any of yours.

Stephen Steward came from Maine I believe in the 1850s married Mary Fidelia Hamlin in 1866 in Coos County. In some early history we find that Stephen's brother came around the Horn to California but we've never been able to find anything on Stephen's route.
John Hamlin and his wife, Mary Jane (Bunn) and their daughter, Mary Fidelia Hamlin came from Illinois
William Howard Thomas was born in 1842 in New Brunswick. He married Elizabeth Abigail Dean who was born in 1863 in Eureka, California. Don't know when they came to Oregon but their daughters were born in Coos County in 1880s.

i got a kick out of someones saying everyone in oregon was related to cecil. i seem to be the only one that ISN'T. but cecil and walt have done so much for this list in just what they have posted.
I think that between Cecils and my families we are just about related to all of the old timers who came here. Funny we are even related though our two families. Cecil won't admit that though.
