Nancy, I am sure this will give the researcher who asked for this some clues to further her research. Even though most of us who do research know that there is information on the internet that may not be totally accurate, sometimes it is the best clue we have to look for the documentation to either prove or disprove it.

Thanks for taking the time to research this. I think we all learn from the information provided even though it is not our family line.

Sue

        Hello Everyone,

I'm a newbie to the list and am wondering if any of you might be related. My ggg-grandparents left the Red River Settlement in Canada and went to Oregon in 1841. Their names were Charles Richard McKay (b. Feb 8, 1808) and Letitia Bird (Feb 10, 1810). They are both buried at the Harrison Cemetery in North Plains about 20 miles west of Portland.

Oregon history about this family is somewhat different from the Canadian research that I've done. I'll be happy to share it if it turns out that anyone is interested.

        Take care,
        Carma McKay
