Have you acquired his estate info, if not that might tell you where he is
buried or give you a clue, it is available from teh Oregon archives;
Name Year Record Type County Source Number
McCubbins, James 12-31-1877 Estate Marion Genealogical 0644
he isn't listed in the Salem Pioneer cemetery, that doesn't necessarily mean
he isn't there, he just isn't listed. I also don't find him listed in
Lebanon. I guess you probably checked that out though, if you got the
response to your post on ancestry.
ghatcher at teleport.com gary hatcher was pursuing that line in 2002.

Hello,
I'm trying to locate the grave of my ggg-grandfather: James

who died: Sept. 6, 1877 in: North Salem, Marion Co., Oregon. He was
born in Virginia / abt. 1815.
In 1852 James and his family left: Franklin Co., Missouri and

McCubbins. she was 17. Rachel's husband was: Calvin Dotson. Don't know what
become of him? Rachel's death is recorded in: Stephenie Flora's: "Emigrants
of 1852".
James's first wife was: China [maiden name unknown] born abt: 1815 /
Virginia and she died in 1852, not sure if back east or on the trail to
Oregon. Her death is not recorded as: James and China's daughter Rachel's

When James got to Oregon, he married: Barbara Allen in: 1853, who
came on same wagon train from Missouri. They settled 1853 at: Howell Prairie
/ Silverton, Marion Co., Oregon. Then they moved to Lebanon, Linn Co.,

Oregon. When James McCubbins died, Barbara married a man with the last name:
Lewis. Barbara is buried in the: Lewis Cemetery, But can not find: James
