I went to the Coos County Courthouse Annex in North Bend today to see about
some delayed birth certs for some folks I was looking for; no joy. The don't
have it set up with a nice easy index I could fumble through looking for
people and the info they have is just book entries for 1922 to 1940 with
pieces missing. I didn't even bother to find out what the process is, but it
sounded like a pain in the butt and expensive (she said something to
somebody on the phone that it cost $15 a document for something)and I
figured it made more sense to me to try Oregon Archives.
Also in spite of all my efforts to get organized I could find very few
things folks were looking for down there that I had promised to look for, so
if somebody got a promise like that from me they might be well advised to
put together what they have on who they are looking for and what they are
hoping to find out and fire it off to me off list and I promise I will
really get it all in the right folder so I can find it when I want to go
again.
