I think we all should be proud of our heritage regardless of what it is, be it Indian, European, Etc.

Being born and raised on the Colville Indian Reservation I learned much about discrimination and shame. Many of us were made to feel shame for our Indian heritage and many to this day still feel this way, even members of my family. It is sad and our history is a sad one, but I continue to keep all in perspective and be proud of who I am and my ancestry as well. None of us can change what took place in our history whether we are white or Indian. But, we do have the choice of what we carry within our hearts today. Many changes took place throughout history in all of the lands and will continue into the future. Some call it progress while others cry foul. I pray everyday that all will come to a balance in this world but it won't happen until we all stop looking at the color of our skin, or what race was responsible for what. Whatever took place the results are the here and now. It is now what and where we go with it now and into the future. I pray everyday for all to be blessed throughout the world.
