[or-roots] Barlow Trail ( the begining)

The Matney came out on the 1843 trail as well, 
Walter J Matney is my 1st great grand father.
   
His brother James Madison Matney spent a long time going back and forth from Oregon to Salt Lake leading the latter trains in to Oregon as the scout.

  The Matheny and Hewitt families came out on the first big wagon train in 1843. they are my  3rd and 2nd gt. grnad parants.
