[or-roots] Political correctness

Please people, this IS a genealogy forum, let us concede that right or wrong
some folks have an aversion to certain terms and drop their use in public,
at least within reason.
I am sure that Mr. Barnes was relating this anecdote as he remembered it
from a time when it would have been politically correct to say it in that
fashion.
Because many of us Oregonians have not been as exposed to non-white culture
as others we tend to not be as aware that it is not acceptable in some
quarters to tell jokes about people stealing more chain than they can swim
with as maybe we should be.
But folks, lets not use up our bandwidth and GENEALOGY storage space with a
lot of pointless (because chances you are going to change anyones minds are
slim and none) arguements and name calling on the subject and get on with
the genealogy.
Leslie (lilly white honky) Chapman
