[or-roots] Why are you on here then?

Hi Nancy,
Thank you for your thoughts on this. My comments weren't intended as a slam. What I meant, but guess I should have made clearer, was that items such as whether or not there were police at certain locations didn't provide helpful research information--at least not for those of us who live far from there. When I signed on, I thought the messages would be limited to research resources and answers to questions about families or individuals people were researching.
I really do appreciate your taking time to answer.

Jan,
If you don't like receiving three to six messages a day & it's a waste of your time,
why are you on here then? Every message is important on "or-roots" as we are searching for information & etc of our Ancestors. I read all e-mails from the members, if I can help in any little way or more I do.
I enjoy ALL messages, will most : )

Even personal exchange messages are important, interesting & can bring something to light.

Helen,
Thank you for being courteously blunt with these folks who wander from topic
to topic, treating the forum as a general conversation I think they forget
not everyone is interested in reading their personal exchange messages.
I'm new to family research and don't appreciate receiving three to six
messages a day whose subjects make them look valuable to me, but which waste
my time when I open them.
