Yes, we do often blather off topic, List Mom is very forgiving, but often
the blather is mixed in with the meat of the issue too. Sometimes some one
will post Blather because the list has been so dead they're wondering if
anyone's out there.

But I agree one hundred and fifty percent that folks need to remember to
make their subject line reflect thier topic, the best one was the time I
posted to chew on folks about not changing it and forgot to change my
subject line.

You would be surprised how often someone comes on with a "pure blather"
comment which reminds someone of the time Unlce Fred got caught in the speed
trap driving his Reo to Grandma Moses house in 19 ought whatever and the
next email is long lost cousing Gracie whose Dad had a fight with Fred five
years before the speed trap incident and never spoke to him or Gramma Moses
again and Gracie lost touch and gosh is she thrilled to find her cousin!

I know that sounds far fetched but I have been here long enough to see
things similar to that happen, as a matter of fact in making a flip comment
about kin of mine in relation to help I was trying to give someone last week
I found out I have a connection to a couple other list veterans that I was
totally unaware of.

I am one of those folks who saves everything genealogical that comes on the
list, and I do save a lot of the blather too, it just ends up in the
"friends" folder instead of in Oregon list folder. Once upon a time when I
had lots of time on my hands I used to organize it, now I am lucky if I
don't lose half of it.

So enough blathe already.
