Dear Rooters,

For those of you living in Oregon you may find one of these workshops
of interest especially given the interest in stories and the sharing of
same on the list.

The Archdiocesan Historical Commission is presenting two workshops on
Oral History this month.  One will be held Saturday October 22 from
10:00 - 3:30 at All Saints Parish at 3847 NE Glisan in Portland the same
workshop will also be held in Roseburg Saturday October 29, 2005 from
10:00 - 3:30 and Sta Joseph's Parish, 800 W Stanton St in Roseburg.

The workshops are open to anyone interested in attending the and the
cost is $ 25 per person.  The workshop instructor is  Dr. James F
Strassmaier, former Oral Historian for the Oregon Historical Society.

and if you are in the Salem area Thursday ...

In celebration of Oregon Archives Week the State Archives will be
holding a reception and offering tours October 13th from 2:00-3:30.
There will also be posters on display from five of other repositories
in Polk and Marion Counties highlighting their archives programs.
