My Father used to carry an empty salvaged quart beer can
with the bottom cut out. Handy for filling a cantankerous
33 Chev radiator. I do not now recall the brand name
but think it may have been a Lucky Lager with the horse-
shoe.

Living out in the country I used the beer cans to guide me home at night they would shine up pretty good with my big spot light.
when we moved into the old house in Loomis, Ca in 1943 it was filled almost to the floor under the house with Acme beer cans, the type with the screw on caps.
the back yard was full of old bottles my Uncle gathered them all up and took them to town to cash them in. I went with him, it was my first ride that I remember in a car.
