I don't remember "Quality Pie", so I guess the answer would be "no". But, my husband played basketball and baseball at Portland State and I think I remember him talking about living on "Quality Pie" because they never had any money. I'll ask him when he gets home.

Dan,
The pie shop was "Roses Delicatessen" and they had sandwiches that were easy five inches high! They also had the most beautiful cinnamon rolls and pies. They still exist, but they're in Beaverton.
If anybody loves to bake, back in the 80's there was a cookbook called "Grandma Rose's Sinfully Delicious". It will teach you everything you really should know about baking pies and especially pie crusts. Tons better than Martha. All "old world" baking.
The other restaurant that was in that area was "Henry Thiele's" (I think I have the spelling right). The restaurant is gone now. When they closed they had an article in the paper about the waitresses and how some of them had worked there for fifty years and still wore their same white starched uniforms. Now there's a "Cost Plus" etc. there, but they named it Thiele Square.
