I saw a video on that. bad flood.
  Lots of things going on their now.
We liked to ride our go carts there and I taught the kids how to drive there, almost got a dip in the slue once too <yipes> car and all.

  During WWII the community of Vanport was built next to Jantzen (note correct spelling) Beach park. In the Vanport flood of May 1948 all of the housing and the park were wiped out. In the years that followed the cleanup businesses began building and opening in the area.
